Designation: Director, Educational Multimedia Research Centre (EMMRC), University of Calicut

Mr. Damodar Prasad is the Director of the Educational Multimedia Research Centre (EMMRC) at the University of Calicut. He leads initiatives in educational media production, digital learning, and technology-enabled teaching for higher education. Under his leadership, EMMRC Calicut has become one of India’s most active centres, producing high-quality e-content and MOOCs for platforms like SWAYAM and CEC-UGC.

With extensive experience in media production, educational communication, and academic coordination, Mr. Prasad has conceptualised and produced numerous educational documentaries, video lectures, and interactive modules. He has been instrumental in integrating multimedia tools into classroom and distance learning environments, promoting accessibility and quality in higher education.

A noted orator and popular television discussion panelist, Mr. Prasad is also a respected critic of technology and its societal implications. His insights on media, education, and digital ethics have contributed meaningfully to public and academic discourse.

At MITCon 2026, he will address the theme “Gender, Society, and Ethics in the Age of AI,” exploring how educational media and technology can promote equity and ethical awareness. Through his work, Mr. Prasad continues to blend academic vision, media expertise, and social responsibility in advancing innovative learning experiences.
